Six weeks of private coaching
Decide what deserves your effort.
You know how to work. When several worthwhile priorities compete, deciding where to put that effort gets harder. I help experienced leaders make an owned decision and turn it into disciplined action.

The pressure
More goals will not settle competing priorities.
Work, family, attractive opportunities and responsibilities you cannot simply drop may all be pulling in different directions. What served you before may no longer fit. The question is what deserves your effort now, and what you are prepared to release.
A productivity system can organize the work. It cannot decide what matters for you. Before building a 90-day plan, we examine the decision the plan needs to serve. Keep the tools that help; start by choosing the right work.
The work serves a larger purpose: putting your effort behind priorities you deliberately choose and responsibilities you intend to honor. We consider who is affected by the decision. You define the kind of leader you want to practice being and what that means in your next actions.
The work
From an owned decision to action you can review.
These five movements describe how we work. They guide the conversation rather than prescribe one step per session. We return to an earlier movement when the evidence calls for it.
See Clearly. Separate facts, assumptions and pressure. Name the decision and what is within your control.
Decide What Matters. Identify the priorities, responsibilities and limits your decision must respect.
Explore and Choose. Compare realistic options, including alternatives you may have overlooked. Make the tradeoffs explicit and choose a direction you own.
Move to Action. Develop a 90-day plan from the chosen direction. Define next actions, dates, resources, support and foreseeable obstacles.
Review and Adjust. Review what you actually attempted and what happened. Sustain what helps, adjust what does not and revisit the decision when needed.
The standard
A working record of the decision and the work.
Progress becomes visible in the decision you name, the tradeoffs you own, the action you actually attempt and the adjustment you make after reviewing evidence. A plan records intent; the review records what happened.
- A living Decision and Execution Record capturing your direction, priorities and explicit tradeoffs.
- A developed 90-day plan with next actions, dates, resources and support.
- Written commitments and evidence of what you actually attempt during the engagement.
- Review-and-adjust notes showing what happened, what you learned and what changes next.
Fit
This work requires ownership.
This may fit if
You face a consequential decision and want support carrying it through action, evidence and adjustment. You are willing to examine the tradeoffs and take responsibility for the work.
This is not a fit if
You want someone else to decide, guarantee the outcome, or carry your responsibility.
Before you begin
Questions worth asking before you commit.
I have already tried coaching, assessments or planning. Why this?
The starting point here is what deserves execution. We examine the decision before developing the plan, then review actual attempts. Useful tools can support that work; no worksheet makes the choice for you.
Should I be able to figure this out myself?
Experience does not remove competing obligations. Guided questions and a clear working record can help you examine the choice. Your judgment remains yours.
What if I remain uncertain or fail to follow through?
We name missing information and the next action that can produce useful evidence. If you miss a commitment, we examine what happened and what you will change. Accountability remains yours; certainty and results are not guaranteed.
What if work, family or money limits my options?
Those may be real constraints. We include them in the tradeoffs, identify needed resources and support, and choose feasible actions. Coaching does not erase obligations or require you to abandon what matters.
Why Kirby
Leadership formed where responsibility had consequences.
This coaching draws from lived leadership, formal study, and years of helping people act clearly under pressure.
During my Army career, I moved into an Inspector General role with more control over my schedule. The work changed, but I kept finding another system to improve and another task to fill the space. In Dangerous, But Governed, I describe what that exposed: a better schedule could increase output without increasing presence. That is the distinction we examine here. What does the work need to serve, and what are you prepared to stop doing?
